Care Instructions for Maintaining Portable Hot Tub

We all have a wish to have our personal portable hot tub at home when winter arrives and temperature starts to drop and weather turns chilling outside. If you don’t have a hot tub, you end up going to your favorite spa salon to lounge in Jacuzzi. But professional spa treatments cost dearly and you may want to stay indoors next to your heater. But those days are gone. You may choose the best portable hot tub which is a practical option.

Like other hot tubs, portable hot tubs also need some care and maintenance to keep them in excellent condition. Unlike regular tubs, they come with a small filter and you need to clean it properly. Here’s what else you should do to keep it in excellent condition –

Keep track of alkaline and pH level

You can easily test the pH and alkaline level of water with a water test kit. If you don’t get the kit with your hot tub, you may order it separately online or buy it from store which has pool and spa supplies. Adjust the water level with all the important chemicals. Be sure to maintain pH level of the hot tub from 7.4 to 7.6. Too low pH level may damage the vinyl of your hot tub and the tub itself. So, test the pH every once in a week.

Sanitization

Be sure to sanitize your hot water tub every time when you use it. You may do so weekly if it is not used much. You may use sanitizing liquid for it.

Filter

Also keep the filter in check on regular basis, at least once in a week. To find the filter, you may want to check the manual. The position of the filter depends upon the manufacturer. However, it is usually placed around the heating unit outside the tub.

Drainage

It is always advised to replace the water once a month (or every 3 to 4 weeks) and clean the inside of the tub with water, mild detergent, and clean damp sponge. Rinse it well and avoid all the soapy residues. For doing this, you may use a hose.
